Where Is Your Attention?

I know this is taken out of context, Emerson’s essay on Self-Reliance; However I think it may apply as to what we pay attention to. “This sculpture in the memory is not without pre established harmony. The eye was placed where one ray should fall, that it might testify of that particular ray. We but half express ourselves, and are ashamed of that divine idea which each of us represents. It may be safely trusted as proportionate and of good issues, so it be safely imparted, but God will not have his work made manifest by cowards. A man is relieved and gay when he has put his heart into his work and done his best; but what he is said or done otherwise shall give him no peace. It is a deliverance which does not deliver. In the attempt his genius deserts him; no muse befriends; no invention, no hope.”
I am not implying that your husband is guilty of this passage but his focus was on the sunrise thereby missing the majestic mosaic that God wanted him to see.

Live to Write - Write to Live

One day last week my son and I were up before dawn, so we went with my husband to take sunrise pictures on the beach. When we got to the beach parking lot, my husband grabbed his equipment and went ahead so he wouldn’t miss the sunrise and my son and I took our time getting out of the car. When we got to the beach, I could see my husband far down the beach, facing east, to our left.

My son and I started walking down the beach toward my husband, and I noticed a dark lump on the beach. I soon realized it was a seal, snoozing on the beach. As we got closer, the seal woke up, looked around at us, and started galumphing toward the ocean. Once he got past the waves, he popped his head up and I swear he looked back at us. My…

I Will Not Leave You Orphans

I Will Not Leave You Orphans

The sailor knew he was in the wrong part of town, lost and without bearing; he ambulated through the alleys of despair, for he knew he was getting nowhere.

“For at the window of a house a man peered through the lattice and saw among the simple a young man devoid of understanding.”

Plotting a passage to escape the snare the sailor knew darkness and evil surrounded him and he could not stay there, he must find a way for a course that was true.

Over the years, the passage of time caught up to the sailor, and the darkness void of light, delivered the sailor to his knees surrendering a sea bag of morals; he arose from the altar and followed the chart for now he knew the correct source to keep him on course.

Knowing that his Redeemer was 2000 years dead he read of the resurrection that would keep his course in the right direction.

His Redeemer made a promise for all heard his divine word, “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”

The sailor tried to steer his own course but error found him in a situation much worse.

For when the light grew dim, the Comforter consoled him with the anchor of the soul; I am your Redeemer I have made you whole.

I will not leave you as an orphan to wander off course, the light is brighter when you navigate by the light of grace, replot your course for I will not leave you as orphans to be defiled and abandoned, for I am your Redeemer and I will be with you to the end.

it has been a pleasure writing the manuscript for this short story. I sincerely hope that someone out there would find it in his heart to purchase my book. It is a story of discovering that knowledge is useless unless you have understanding to become what God had intended you to be.

A House Divided

“Every kingdom divided against itself is bought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” It seems as though history has become a mystery unwilling to be solved. If only we would unite we would not have to live in fright and become a nation of great resolve.

If one can only learn from history the mysteries of contentment, the peoples of the nation would work their parcel of ground, free from those who have nothing but resentment of that which they do not own.

Imminent domain will not remain and manifest destiny is not worth the journey to the land of plenty; greed for prosperity has left the station of our nation in the sad situation without regard of reputation.

How all this happened to come to be is not a mystery, for you see we kicked out the deity from our schools and universities, leaving us the variety of public opinion in which God has no dominion, all that is left is a reprobate mind vociferous and blind.

Technology has replaced theology in our seminaries; teaching Christ  is just one way, for there are many paths to God; singing a song like a canary in a cage, the curriculum has engaged in circumcision to a division, which  no longer teaches we were once a nation under God through Christ, having  liberty and justice for all to enjoy; what will the bird in the cage whine, when the money line will decline, and their education leaves the room to face doom?

The lion of the tribe of Judah will come down and rule from Zion; will this nation submit to his horizon of authority to rule in righteousness, or will they continue to oppress the humble which are the righteousness of God in Christ.

O those who remain would take hold of this refrain; to his government in which he reigns there will be no end.

Words Justified or Words Condemned

“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Idle words spoken in haste often dance to a tune that has no rhythm, the fragrance put forth by a tongue may be sweet for a season, but the words are void of charm and can do harm and belong in the deepest chasm.

Words delivered with sincerity are a treasure beyond any measure, the words plays a joyful tune of serenity; the melody heard is in the heavenly realm, the songs that are playing from the heart, are a symphony welcomed not to keep us apart.

One may toss a pebble in a pool of calm water causing gentle ripples that reaches out to cool each other with justifying words of relation; but a stone thrown in force into the pool will disperse the waters from its source giving birth to mayhem that will condemn.

Be careful of every idle word you speak, you will have to give an account of the amount in judgment before our Lord; “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Invitation to Read my Blog

I just received word from WestBow Press that my book is alive.

The next step is my approval of the actual book. I will receive it in a couple of weeks.

I want to encourage my friends on Facebook to follow my blog; I would appreciate any comments they feel free to make. If the book does well on the market I am going to contact my publisher and start another book which contains the poems that I have written.

This experience has been a learning curve and I have profited from the experience for it has helped me find my style of writing. For that reason I would like to hear from my readers in the blog their opinions that are constructive. I have received some very enlightened remarks from anonymous sources  on  the website poem hunters.com their approval of my writings kept me encouraged to continue writing most of my poems that are based upon actual Scripture.

Prophecy Being Fulfilled

Twenty-four hours a day all the pundits that you see on the satellite tremble and shutter as to the disposition of the Middle East situation in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey and Russia. Do the pundits not see that which was with written in Psalms 83. Each pundit has his own expert opinion that does not include a prophecy written several millennia past they argue and fight to see which one is right. For God has determined who will inherit the land, Israel will rule from Zion and slaughter the mighty lion..

Listen to the words of the prophecy and Psalms 83 make up your mind to see if this prophecy runs true and then I am  through. Do not deep silent, O God ! Do not hold Your piece, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head,  they have taken crafty counsel against Your people , and he consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a Confederacy against You: The tents of  Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and  the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot. Deal with them as with Median as with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brooke Kishon, who perished at En Dor, who became as refuse on the earth. Make  their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, “Let us take  for ourselves  the pastures  of God for a  possession.” O my God, make them like whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As a fire burns the woods, and as the flames sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name O Lord. Let hem be confounded and dismayed forever ;yes let them be put to shame and parish, that they may know that You, whose name alone  is the Lord, are  the Most  High over all the earth.

Both sides of the aisle  call this foolishness, claiming that it is nothing but a metaphor  of what used to be and not what is to be.  Come down to reality and listen to our experts  of esteem for we know better than your book of prophecy is nothing but a fallacy, O how sad they will be when they reject what the Lord has decreed.

This war has been going on for 6000 years  and they cannot see  that  which brings the fears  was  prophesied before their years  for God has made  their hearts to believe a lie and not the truth for our bastions of higher learning are not teaching the youth the fear of the Lord any longer for they have declared Him dead.

Scripture in Poetic Form

One may ask why is poetry necessary to convey the word of God in poetic form?

For me to answer that question I am of the opinion that inspiration for a work of art is unique to the artist not necessarily to the eye of the beholder, because  the interpretation of the beholder may vary. One sees an abstract work of art in one way and another person may see it entirely different; only the artist that painted the picture can explain the true beauty of his inspiration. Poetry is very much the same, to the author the inspiration of his work are glimpses of inspiration that quickly appear and inspire the author to paint his picture in words of poetic verse. Poetry is an art form in which the author cannot leave his product alone, each time the poet reads his own work he is challenged with an endeavor to make his art form convey exactly that which is in his heart,  with clarity of thought. Like an artist painting a picture, each stroke of the brush may not satisfy their contentment of the finish work of art. One misplaced stroke can change the whole picture and frustrate the artist. That is the paradigm that every poet and artist contends with in achieving satisfaction of their craft.

I often find myself wanting to change each poem that I have written, falls in the category that Emerson illustrated in his essay on Self-Reliance; to till his parcel of ground until he has given it his best. We should not strive to give in to conformity but have the exuberance of a youth that cares not where his next meal comes from he just expects it to be given.

Whenever I read the Scriptures a glimpse of inspiration may have taken form in my thoughts and I can see the beauty of the word of Scripture, that is often prophesied in poetic form, I seize the moment for I know the Holy Spirit is  at work in my thoughts, that is why I do not consider myself to be the author I only write what is in my heart at that time; sometimes it comes faster than I can write and I may have ended the poem too soon leaving the reader without a clue as to what I am writing about. Sometimes I may have written the poem too long however, I am not in the habit of telling the Holy Spirit enough is enough.
I deeply appreciate the kind remarks for my works of my inspiration I write and post on Facebook also on the website poemhunters.com. I also would like to announce the impending publication of my first book entitled: A Fish Out of the Water  published by Westbow Press a division of Thomas Nelson publishers. The book is in the hands of the printer and will soon be released. The book is a short story of a fish that has left his school in search of knowledge that he was not afforded in the school to which he belonged. It is the story of the discovering of principles of life. A mysterious stranger granted him three days as a human to discover something far greater than just knowledge. The book will be available in soft cover and e-books. I humbly ask that you consider purchasing my book that will be available by WestBow Press. The book is an excellent story for all ages especially for children and your grandchildren 10 years old and up.

I want to make clear in my writings that first and foremost I am a Christian. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ nor do I participate harsh apologetics. I have written poems on another website that are spiritually based poems only to discover that they were not well received. The inspiration for most of my poems I feel are inspired by the Holy Spirit of God that lives within me. These inspirations may be a fleeting thought or a glimpse of God’s tapestry. I believe that no one is closer to God than he who admires the objects of inspiration that causes poetry to flow from one’s soul. When the author puts to pen the object of his God-given inspiration the words flow as if it were a stream that runs unimpaired, free of obstruction and not forced to take a different course. Shame on the pastor who makes fun of one that worships God in his heart be it in nature or on the seat of a tractor instead of a building built by human hands and called the church. Does the pastor understand that the church is composed of believers and not denominational beliefs? A true Christian is one that he or she are saved by grace through faith and nothing more nor anything less, we are all children of God in Christ and not individuals that gather in man-made temples old or new. I have not negated the fivefold ministry but I apply it in this manner as stated in Ephesians chapter 2 starting with verse: 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

John Donne  could not have made this any clear than his poem No Man Is An Island:

No man is an island, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if the promontory were. As well as if a manner of thy friends or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee .

I believe in the grace of God however, one cannot put grace underfoot and take it for granted that he is not accountable for his actions. We’re not perfect nor can anyone obtain perfection without mercy. Nor shall we remove Christ from the cross by our works. When we stand before Christ we are not judged by our works but our works are judged for what ever purpose that serves the truth. When we stumble or fall, the grace of God is not earned but is a free gift to those who believe. Jesus has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us in all truths. We do not live by the flesh we live by the Spirit; if that is so why do we find fault with one another and dictate our own truths and justify it by saying thus says the Lord. The Father judges no one but he has given Jesus all matters of judgment paid for at the cross if we believe in Him and honor his word to the best of our ability imperfect as we all are. Terrance Tracy
